Meet Your Village Doula

MEG_8702Hi! I'm Danielle Fradley-Davis (she/her),

I am a certified Doula, Child Birth Educator and the proud owner and founder of Your Village Birth Services.

I was drawn to doula work because I believe the experiences and well-being of those growing their families matter. I recognize the opportunity that birth provides for personal growth and deepened connections and I know firsthand that the care we receive during these vulnerable moments can have a lasting impact. I see the value that trusted, calm, and continuous support brings to the reproductive experience.

With a love of building connections, a passion for learning and sharing knowledge, and a drive to protect and improve the birth experience for all, I dove into the world of Doula work and never looked back.

As your Doula, I arrive with warmth, humility, and humour. As a proudly Queer, neuro-"spicy", person of colour, I am conscious of the various systems of oppression that affect us all differently. I honour what makes your family unique and am committed to anchoring my care advocacy and trauma reduction. I work with you to build on your strengths and fill in the gaps of care. I meet your family where you are, free of judgement and ready to support your goals. I feel privileged  to walk with you through all the highs and lows of welcoming a new life.

MEG_9001Outside of supporting families, I love mindfully parenting my two wonderful kids, nurturing my friendships, and finding peace and grounding through nature and creativity. I love exploring outdoors, watering my garden, attending folk music festivals,  creating in the kitchen, singing, throwing pottery, and just about any other creative outlet I can get my hands on.

My doula certifications have been completed through Doula School Canada, with further studies in lactation support.

MEG_8788Some of the studies and qualifications that I have collected along my journey prior to Doula work include, studies in Women and Gender( Laurier University 2012), Culinary Management  (Conestoga Collage 2014) , Local Food Sustainability (St. Lawrence College 2016), and Holistic Nutrition (CNP, Institute of Holistic Nutrition 2018). This collection of knowledge and experiences very much inform and support my approach to Doula work.

I welcome you to reach out and look forward to getting to know you and how I may best serve your growing family.

Testimonials

"I can't say enough about how amazing Danielle was throughout my pregnancy and birth experience. From the moment we met, she provided such a calming and reassuring presence. Her knowledge and support made me feel empowered and prepared for every step of the journey. I learned so much more than the prenatal classes could provide.
If you're looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated doula, I highly recommend Danielle. She made such a difference in our birth experience, and we are forever grateful!”
Michelle J.

"Danielle was my postpartum doula for my second child and I am so grateful she was there during that transition time. Her calm and warm presence really helped ease going from one to two kids for us. Knowing that she would be there regularly to help out with light duties around the house and sometimes just talk about all things motherhood and babies was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend her services to anyone expecting or who'd just had a baby!"

 Thalia

"We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Danielle provided such calm, steady support for both my husband and me throughout the birth and into our early postpartum days.

During my unmedicated birth, Danielle was instrumental in keeping me focused. She consistently reminded me of my mantras, breath work and provided essential counter-pressure that made the process much more manageable. She also took the initiative to capture photos and video during the last push and the moment the doctor handed me our son- something I will be forever grateful for, as those are memories we will cherish forever.

Her support during our postpartum visits made a huge difference as well. She was great at checking in, helping me navigate challenges, and celebrating our wins. She also took a huge weight off our shoulders by helping with our nutrition, preparing energy balls, salads, and easy meals so we could eat well without having to think about it.

Danielle is easy to talk to, encouraging, and was a wonderful presence to have with us. We truly loved having her support and highly recommend her to any expecting family!"
